She was the kind of girl that you might not say it's beautiful but that you can clearly see has something special. She used to wear colourful dresses and when she walked, she seemed to fly, step by step.
Everybody loved her presence, but only the children were brave enough to approached her. The most part of the adults didn't even spoke to her or didn't wanted to do it either. They probably used to think that watching her in an appropiate distance must be good enough. But I wasn't like them.
I found her one day in the garden. She was sitting in the grass and smealing a bunch of gorgeous flowers. She seemed really graceful staying there, in the middle of the nautre.
-Hi.-I said, a little confused-What are you doing here?
-I just want to say goodbye.
-Goodbye?-I repeated-Are you leaving?
-Yes.
-For how long?
She laughed.
-I don't know. Maybe I come back some day. You have such a beautiful garden.-she stood up.
-Wait. Why... where are you leaving?-I tried to make her stay.
She smiled.
-If I stay here one more day, I'll definately die. My house, my food. All of them are disappearing. I have to go.-she explained to me.
I felt guilty about it at some point. And I wasn't wrong. It was, in some way, my fault. Everybody's fault.
-Don't forget to water the flowers!-said the butterfly before starting to fly, leaving me there alone.
